What is the Wings for Life World Run?

The Wings for Life World Run is a truly unique and global race for both runners and wheelchair participants. Instead of a finish line, competitors race side by side to keep ahead of the Virtual Catcher Car. Now in its eleventh year, on 5 mai 2024 Wings for Life World Run participants in Germany can also run together in Siegen. Meet up with your friends, download the Wings for Life World Run App and join all the other people running until the Virtual Catcher Car catches you of course. The race starts at exactly 13:00:00. The Virtual Catcher Car takes off 30 minutes after the start at 14 km/h and steadily increases its speed until the last athletes have been caught. 100% of all donations and the entry fees go directly into spinal cord research projects.

Running route

Take part in the wings for life app run in Siegen's running hotspot. The Sieg Arena is a 2.2 km circular route on the Sieg, a flat asphalted route on the edge of the city center. The Sieg Arena is a training facility for hundreds of recreational and club athletes and the venue for an annual light run to benefit a winter service.

The victory arena offers optimal conditions to escape the catcher car for a long time. This year there will also be an information tent in the start-finish area with music and presentation. There will be a warm-up at around 12.45 p.m. and we will take a photo together shortly before 1 p.m. Free parking is possible under the HTS bridge and around the :anlauf office at Eintracht Station.
